  1. Use pythagoream theorem. a^2+b^2=c^2

    So 14^2+b^2=25^2

    you get 196+b^2=625

    625-196=429

    Radical it.

  2. Pythagorean Theorem: A squared + B squared = C squared

You need to cut the triangle in half, giving you two triangles with sides, 25, 7, and x.

Use the theorem to find the other side.

Hope I explained it well enough, and sorry to not give you the answer outright ;)

  3. the slant height is the height of one of the faces.

it's hard to explain without a picture, but basically you need to use the pythagorean theorum.

since the base edge is 14, you take half of that (not on all theorums like this, but only a few using slant height... its hard to explain!)

    basically, solve:

    x^2 + 7^2 = 25^2

(everyone else is wrong... they do not know that you only need HALF of the 14-- so square 7 NOT 14.)

it's extremely easy to understand (and more easy to explain-- just a picture is often needed for these types of problems)
