  1. mass is weight/g where g is the acceleration due to gravity, 9.8 m/s^2, or 32 ft /s

    So say something weighs 320 pounds, since this is an english measurement, you divide by 32, and you get that the mass is 10 slugs (the english measurement of mass)

    Say something weighs 98 Newtons (the metric unit of weight), then you divide by 9.8 and get a mass of 10 kilograms (the metric unit of mass).

  2. Mass = Volume/ Density. <== That's the formula for mass..

    If you have the volume and density of a object you can calculate the mass

    Hope this helped!! :]

  3. It depends on the information you are given, if none is given use a scale. Apologies for bluntness. Mass can be gained from things such as volume, density and other measurements
