How do you find the measurments of a sphere and an octagon if the volume is 250mL? (We are trying to make 3-D designs and nets on paper for a juice box).

  1. The volume of a sphere is (4/3) * pi * r^3.  A milliliter is one cubic centimeter.  So for the sphere, all you have to do is solve r for (4/3) * pi * r^3 = 250 cm^3.

As for the octagon, that makes no sense since milliliter measures three-dimensional space but an octagon is a two-dimension shape?  Do you by any chance mean octahedron?  If so, the formula for the volume of a regular octahedron is is (1/3) * sqrt(2) * s^3 (where "s" is the length of a side), so as before, just solve s for (1/3) * sqrt(2) * s^3 = 250 cm^3.
