How do you find the moles of carbon dioxide gas produced from this chemical reaction?

  1. well your promblem saids that it decomposes upon heating so do u need to have O2 in ur reactants......and if so it would miss up ur whole equation. just wondering. so this isnt like a answer but a question. and MiCk........y did u wait so long to start on ur review.


  2. The equation is balanced. That means, as it is written, 1 mole of CaCO3 would produce 1 mole of CO2. Assuming you started with 1 mole of CaCO3, the 1 mole of CO2 produced.  The ratio is 1 to 1. Similarly, if you have a different mole number for CACO3, then you can find the moles of CO2 produced by simply using the ratio-it will be th equal moles as that of CaCO3... 1 to 1.

  3. One.

    That equation means one mole of CaCO3 forms one mole of CaO and one mole of CO2.

    If there was a number in front of any of them it would be that many moles, we just take it that there is a 1 in front of them.
