  1. The free bus between the International Airport and the Domestic Airport is available to anyone with a valid ticket from the terminal they wish to travel from.

Apart from being free, the bus does not use public roads and is not liable to be delayed in traffic.

It matters not with which airline you are travelling - so long as you have a ticket the free bus is for your use.

From the Domestic Airport to the International Airport:

Touts will try to get you to go with them. "International Terminal, Sir? I'll take your bags." Don't let them! Go and queue for the bus (the location is clearly marked) and don't pay a penny.

The boys who put your luggage on the bus, and take it off when you arrive at the terminal are not allowed to take tips. The official uniform has this rule embroidered into it. Nonetheless, if nobody is looking they will still ask you for "good luck money". Don't give them a single piasa!

If you are transferring to the International Terminal there are touts waiting to show you to your airline desk. It is a small airport, and finding your airline check-in desk is a simple matter. If you accept the help of one of these nice gentlemen he will expect money from you...

One tip when arriving at the International Terminal, is not to use the pavement outside the building. This is a public area and it can get very crowded with non-passengers saying goodbye to their friends and family. The pavement can be blocked with hundreds of people, making it difficult (or impossible) to get to your airline check-in desk. The easiest ways around this are:

1] To walk on the road. The safety barrier has gaps in it every so often, so you can get back onto the pavement when you want to

2] Enter the terminal building before you hit the crowds, then walk to your check-in desk inside the terminal.

When arriving at the International Airport and transferring to the Domestic Airport:

Collect your baggage and go through customs.

Turn left and proceed towards the exit (this is where people meet passengers and taxi drivers hold up the names of their passengers.) On your right there are little travel company and money-changing kiosks.

Just before you get to the exit, turn LEFT down a corridor. This leads to a waiting room where you wait for the shuttle bus.

If you get to the exit and see people waiting to meet passengers and if you see the taxi drivers holding up the names of their passengers, you have gone TOO FAR! You have only gone a few metres too far, so turn back and you'll be at the shuttle bus in moments.

You have a safety net if you get to the exit. Policemen stand in the lobby to hold the crowds back. You can ask one of these nice gentlemen to direct you to the shuttle bus, and they will.

  2. Yes, There are english as well as Hindi signposts. It is easy to find. As far as I remember it is on the right side once you come out of custom clearance gate. (But not sure)

Ask any airport official or security personnel. They will know english and will be able to direct you.

Buses run every 20/30 mins and most likely you will find other people waiting as well.

    Take care
