How do you find the weight of a fly rod?

i have a white river dogwood canyon 8'6" rod and i dont know how to find the weight

also how do you set the drag?

  1. The weight should be a series of numbers on the shaft.

    DT- 6F(double taper 6 floating)  or  WF 6F( weight forward 6 floating)  This designates the weight of the fly line and the design type the rod was intended for.

      Not all fly reels have adjustable drags since the fish is played from the off hand not from the reel.
