we have a racehorse from mexico and he is registered in mexico somewhere and he has a tatoo on his lip, but somebody got him after he was raced because he was really skinny but couldn't get the papers because the people he got him from had bought him from the previous owners. the man who gave him to us, doesn't know how to get a hold of who he bought him fro so he has no idea where his papers are. he is registered somewhere in mexico so how can we find out where??

  1. contact the jockey club and ask for mexico's jockey club. Ask in english they will translate and answer be sure to give the tattoo number. Also be wary, a horse whose papers are not handed over can be taken back by the original owner on the papers regardless of bill of sale! they can then press charges on you for theft so getting the papers can be very important. However, since we are talking about mexico i doubt the papered owners will want to pursue and get the horse. Most of the time they will sign over the papers. but in the americas, uk, cananda, etc. beware of this!
