How do you fit a cigarette lighter socket to a 1997 'R reg' corsa?

I bought one from halfords, there is a hole by the ashtray in the car where it should go. If possible, I would like detailed instructions on how to do it myself. Many thanks.

Get yourself a Haynes manual, it should show you the colour codes for the wiring & give detail on getting to the part of the dashboard you need to access. The wiring should exist, but a manual will ensure you use the correct supply with enough current capability for a cigarette lighter.

personally i would have got one from the brakers out of a corsa...somtimes the plug for the rear of the lighter is behind the dash...have a look,it may just be a case of pluging it in....if not best bet is to get a sparky to fit it...better safe than sorry.
