Question:

How do you fix a DVD that skips or freezes?

I was watching a DVD that I've had for a while (I watched it when I first bought it, and it worked fine then), but now, it acts all f---ed up during a particular moment. I've had it for a couple years, so i can't just return it, and it's a harder-to-find DVD, so I can't just go exchange it for a better copy somewhere. Any good suggestions?

  1. wait wait, try tooth past, I heard it works

  2. I've used the Disk Dr. on both cd's and dvd's.  It doesn't work 100% but it does make an improvement.

  3. Well it's probably just a cheap DVD and his time has come! You can't fix it......

  4. try wiping white toothpaste over the scratched cd then wipe gently with cotton cloth

  5. you can buy a gadget called a "disk doctor" which you place the disk in, add a few drops of a special polish then wind a handle a few hundred times... the polish gets into the cracks/scratches then gets buffed to a clear, shiny finish like when it was when new.

    Alternatively, you could try a clear car polish... works the same way, but will take AGES to buff out any scratches... but then you won't need to buy anything special. Just don't use too much polish!

  6. Other than the specialised Disc Doctor winder thingys, I have also heard of using tooth paste or car polish to buff out minor scratches as they are minor abrasives. Another outlandish, but temporary fix that I have performed successfully in the past is putting the disc in the freezer for a while. I cannot give you a scientific explanation, its just worked for me in the past. If the disc appears to be in mint condition on the surface then I suspect that the disc is dying on the inside, there is no fix fr that!

  7. Most movie DVDs has copy protection, if you want to copy it to your hard disc, you must decrypt the copyright protected dvd first. Otherwise, Although you copy the *.vob files to the hard disk, but most media players cann't it. My friends recommend me to use E.M. Free DVD Copy to copy DVD moives. The video quality that be copied is excellent. If your dvd moive size larger than 4.7G, you can compress DVD to suitable size.

    in addtion to, new version add some funtions like convert DVD to other popular formats, such as h264, Xvid, MOV, VOB, Mpeg, Mpeg4, Mpeg TS, AVI, WMV. so you can watch dvd movies on portable player conveniently.

    free use without limiting;
