How do you fix a camera that beeps 3 times everytime you try to turn it on?

the lenses wont go bak in and i cant turn it on! help!!! thx for any HELPFUL answers.

  1. Well since I am smart, I think it is a bomb. If something looks innocuous, yet beeps uncontrollably when I try to operate it correctly, it is likely to be a bomb.  Call your local bomb squad and have them sort out your "camera."

    Or, you could try replacing the batteries.


  2. I have a Canon SD1000 and it beeps three times whenever it has an error with the lens.

    Make sure nothing is blocking the lens when you turn it on.

    Though, knowing the camera brand would be helpful since all cameras are not the same

    Have you tried checking the manufactures website?  

  3. Something may be in the way of lens when it going back in. Cameras are usually extremely intricate, and the curious wanna-be opening it and trying to fix it may result in greater damage. I suggest sending it to the manufactur if the warranty has not yet expired, or take it to the local repair shop to have it repaired. And yes, as the previous guy mentioned, try recharging your batteries or replacing them with new.
