  1. I would check the pressure to make sure it's ok....around 4.5 psi. The hot and cold shouldn't affect the ball but if you got it wet (assuming the ball is actually leather) you may heve ruined it. If it is a leather ball you could try some leather conditioner on it to soften it up a little as well.

    Hope this helps

  2. take some of the air out

  3. I have had this problem several times in my life. All you need to do is ware it out, such as playing with it a lot of the time, serving with it helps a lot also. Just make sure you take it out of the garage because thats the place that the temperature changes almost everyday. I keep mine in my house and they stay perfectly fine. Good luck! Hope this helps! x3

  4. Hot and Cold temperatures will affect the firmness of the ball.  If you inflate the ball to correct 4-5 lbs in the house, then put the ball in a hot garage, the air in the ball will expand making the ball very hard.  Should be better after the ball is brought back in the house and it cools off.  The opposite happens in the winter.  You should be fine if you inflate the ball at the approximate temperature you want to play at.

  5. Take some air out of the ball. Too much air makes balls very hard and difficult to play with. Trust me, it will be much easier to play with if you let some air out.

  6. Beaker has a great answer.  Many people pump too much air in the ball because it feels right.  With their hands.  (I was the referee at a high school match.  The ball should be around 4.5psi.  That ball pegged my gauge.  It goes up to 12psi.  And the coach whined when I took air out.  He told me that it was supposed to be like that.)

And Beaker is also right about the leather conditioner.  If you left it in the garage, it may have dried out the leather.
