How do you fix a separated zipper on a backpack?

How can I fix a zipper that's separated on my favorite backpack? What's the easiest way?

Take it to a shoe repair place. They'll put a new one in.

I don't know exactly how it is separated.  If the normally closed end came loose, you can fix it.  You can stitch the two pieces together at that end.  Then slightly spread the slider, so its notches (or only one if the other is still attached) so you can put the slider back.  Then gently squeeze the slider to restore the notch or notches.

the best way is to throw it out,they are pretty cheap to buy.SO DONT BE CHEAP why would you want to start a school year with an old bag?
