How do you fix a shorted out Ethernet wire?

i have an Ethernet wire that seems to be shorted out near the plug, how do i fix it?

  1. if you have the special tool to put the plug back on you can do it.  Any other way and you will end up with the same problem again.  Although the tool is only 20 dollars the cord its self is less.  Its up to you.  Any computer shop will have it or at least access to the tool and cable and plugs.

    Build your own.


  2. just buy another one an peel about one inch of each  then combine the right sides

  3. Buy another cable. Or you can crimp another RJ45 connector on if you buy a crimping tool and RJ45 connectors. Cheaper to buy another cable.
