I think it might be my shocks but I'm not 100% sure. My bike has squeaked for over a year but I never used to ride it much untill now. I think it might be the shocks making the squeaking but I'm not sure.

  1. Those are all excellent suggestions, here's another one, the rim might be rubbing against at the brake pads.

But squeaks just take time to find, use WD-40, and spray any moving parts except the chain, try brakecabels, shoks if you have them, seat, wheel axle

  2. If it is a hardtail, lube the head stock (where the fork goes thru the frame to the handle bars), put a little lube on the fork, then lube your pedals they are a big cause of squeak, if it is a full suspension lube the pivot points...

  3. take off the wheels lube the chain and put it back on.

  4. Does it squeak when you pedal or just bouncing on it.

  5. Try to find out where the noise is coming from first. You can do this by isolating the parts. For example, take of the chain and try just turning the pedals. If this squeaks, you know where its coming from. Do this for your brakes, wheels, shocks, everything. Once you find where the noise is originating from, you can set out to fix it. Some things, like bearings, you just need to re grease or like a chain, re oil. Parts like shocks are a bit harder. I use chain oil on my shocks. If oiling doesn't work, try disassembling them, then oiling them. If nothing helps, take it to a bike store, they will be happy to help.

  6. Hi, funny enough, sometimes it's the springs in the seat, ride without sitting down as a test. Put your bike onto a rack setup, so you can ride and someone can locate where the noise is coming from. Try a good quality lubricating spray, takes time to find annoying squeaks.
