How do you fix leakage of the toilet flush?

due to the leakage ,every 5 minutes the tank keeps filling up

the vasoline trick well work only for a short time get new flapper  also to test a flapper for leakage as not all leaks are as big as yours  try putting a little food dye in the tank for a few hours if you see the dye in the bowl replace flapper   also check to see if your filler is adjusted correctly  could be that it kicks on and it overflows into the tube that sticks up which leads into your bowl

it sounds like your "flapper" is leaking (the thing that goes up and down when you turn the handle, and seals the drain)

turn off water to the toilet

drain the tank (flush it once more)

remove the flapper

first try putting a little vaseline/petroleum jelly around the edges

turn back on and see if it still leaks

if it still leaks, go to hardware store, buy new flapper, replace it.
