How do you fix the error "NTLDR is missing. Press Alt + Enter + Delete to restart" on a COMPAQ laptop?

Yeah, I need an answer. I've been going crazy just to make it work.

I don't have a floppy disc, and the CD way didn't work at all.

Well, my brother smashed my laptop because he was mad at me. :(

I think that's whats caused it. I've read about wiring can lead to this.

Any help at all?

  1. search for ntldr  it is at microsoft and other places

    it is free copy it to c:\windows\system32 AND

        to c:\windows


  2. 1st answer was nearly correct when booted from CD widows come up with what do you want to do

    install. repair etc

    Press the R key for repair and follow on from there

    when windows reboots do NOT press any key until windows is loaded and remove CD

  3. Set the boot sequence in bios to boot from cd/dvd first not the harddrive, make sure the cd is in the tray first before making these settings
