I sat my cup of water next to my brother's ds, and it sat there all night. When I woke up this morning, and it was laying in a thin layer of water. We dryed it off, and it didnt turn on. it dryed it off with a blow dryer, and it is now sitting on top of a dehumidifyer. Will it work? what what should I do? I dont have the money to pay for a new ds.

  1. i had a mobile phone that i dropped into a puddle a few years back, people told me that it was beyond repair. Bu all i did was to leave it dry out naturally for about a week. then for some reson it worked fine. then i sold it. if the water however has damages the circuits of the ds then i doubt that it will ever work again, but try my suggestion first.

or perhaps you could get a electrician to have a look inside it to see if he can find a fault, but if its water damage it might be untraceable.

  2. My brother in law opened my nephews up and set it out to dry on a towel for a couple of days and it is still working now.  I don't know if it will work for yours but it's worth a try.  What do you have to loose now.  Good Luck

  3. those circuits are water proof provided it's not water under pressure,so if you can get it dry it should work,it might need to be taken apart to get dry............tom

  4. Put the DS in a seal able bag of rice it will absorb all the moisture, i did it to a camera that hasn't worked for 2 year... it now works again and it had beer all through it :D

Also the water in your case may have made contact with the two battery terminals causing a current to run through the water draining the battery, but still leave it in a bag of rice for at least 24hrs.
