  1. so first of all think of a rod running straight through your body and you cant move from that position. put ur head back and keep a straight neck (if u put ur head forward ur but goes down and you sink) us ur arms and legs for balance and engage your core muscles (abs) and lay flat as a board. at first ask someone to hold you while you get the postition right. good luck!

  2. relax---keep your entire body up and toes pointed up and don't freak when some water is mid way in your ear.  your body has to go under a little for you to float...be careful though.  One of the worst sunburns I ever got was all day at the lake and floated on my back.  plus, playing football.  water attracts the sun more......use a good sunscreen

  3. omg

when i went on holiday a couple of weeks ago i told my sisters i couldnt float on my back and they were so amazed lol

they said EVERYONE can do it but i swear i cant

i push my bum up as much as i can but it NEVER works

and its not like im fat or anything

i dont understand how everyone does it

i remember when i was in primary school when we went swimming i was the only one who couldnt do it

lol maybe we have a rare desease lol

  4. just lie on your back and relax make sure you body is leveled.

  5. make sure your toes stay above the water

  6. Keep your lungs inflated as that helps. You have to keep your head back, so looking up at the ceiling/sky is good.  You also need to push your hips/bum up so that your tummy sticks out of the water. If you can do all that AND relax you should be fine.  It is a really great feeling once you get the hang of it.  I find it easy to float because I have some body fat, the peole who find it difficult are all muscle and bone. If you don't manage, you can always tell people it is because you are too fit!

    Have fun.

  7. by maintaining a full breath of air in your lungs and keeping your head back (forcing your chest to the surface)  lift created by your forward motion will sustain your buoyancy while you breath.

  8. depends on how you are swimming

  9. Hold your breath in and let it out slowly as you lie on your back , some people just cant do it though .

  10. Lay on your back, breath and lower your head until ur forehead is in the water, raise ur stomach part high until you feel like your not laying flat; you feel that your back is curved a bit. Keep breathing normally or your body will get all stressy  :D

Whatever you do, do not curve ur body so that your tummy part is low. That probably doesn't make any sense at all :) ...

  11. all you do is get on your back an then relax your body an stay stright an you will float

  12. Um - just lie straight on your back - if you let your bum sink down then the rest of you follows.

  13. relax and slowly lie back, when lying on your back put your ears in the water seriously it helps you float then push your tummy up to the surface which will also keep you afloat and look at the sky or ceiling. You won't drown! when you get used to the feeling you'll be able to stay there for hours!

  14. do you always sink? because i do. or did. until my mates and i were doing it in the pool on holiday and i was whinging that i couldnt do it and then i realised that you had to breathe in so the sir keeps you up.

safe to say i looked pretty stupid

    ha

  15. push your hips up and tilt your head back, try to look at something behind you. spreading your arms and legs a bit helps too
