  1. Ask yourself Questions about the material at hand it will give you something to focus on that is material relevat.

It is also how you think anylitically

  2. I hope you print what LW said. Then remember,  brain to pencil to paper.  Sometimes notes can help if they are just nouns and verbs, and then translated...sooner rather than later.  (leave an empty line in-between note lines and translate in a different color..same day!!)

Challenge yourself  to keep the pencil moving as fast as your imagination...preferably taking notes, or even quotes, of the instructor.

  3. That's ADD. Consider asking to get some help. The other thing that you can do is run a tape recorder (or digital recorder today) to keep track of your lessons. I have a digital tape recorder that can plug into the PC and I can save my audio notes when I am not paying attention. Radio Shack sells them for $50 US dollars but you can probably find one cheaper online. They work very well and that will help you. Make sure you get one that has a USB interface.

  4. I agree school can be tedious.  I spent about 38 years in high school, but the good news is that I made it finally.

*(That is a bit of a puzzle you can think about.)

My advice would include the following:

Make a neat list of 20 things that you can do in class that are acceptable, and before you do other things consult your list, and select a suitable option.

Prepare ahead.  Just like getting dressed and packed for a trip, you need to prepare for school ahead of time.  Look in the newspapers and find things that relate to your courses, (ie: a discovery relating to history topics, someone who uses interest rates in your community who could help you understand a math topic on compound interest, survey maps that relate to geographic studies you are doing, etc.....  Cut them out and start an organized file on each subject, ....(this will be a great resource for projects, discussions, and other contributions you can make).  Check TV guides for programs that are dealing with things you have learned, are learning now, or will learn in the next little while,....tell your class they are going to be on, when and where.

Make, don't take, .....Give, don"t get,......Sit up front, not at the back, ..... Take notes, record YOUR questions, ask questions at appropriate times, and research your own questions.  Anticipate answers that others will have to questions.  Make detailed plans, and write them down or draw what you are thinking about, (check out DaVinci's drawings).  Keep organized files and notes.  Underline and summarize so that your notes get smaller as your mind files expand.

Education happens in the world, and occasionally in schools.  Take your interests out to the world, and find answers to your questions,  seek to define symptoms and then solve your problems. Appreciate, understand, and respect the rights and opinions of others,.....you can learn a great deal from others, even if they are doing the wrong things as far as you are concerned.

Never loose your fascination for life, your curosity to investigate, and your love for others, ....these are gifts that you can treasure and develop throughout your brief lifetime.  *(Babies are amazing, and we were there once, so what is happening with the amazing individuals we once were?)

Work on answering the question about why God put you here at this time.

Many folks in school, teachers included, just don't get it, .....they have lost their enthusiasm for life, their respect for others, and they have stopped learning.  *(check the parking lot after school)  You do not want to be satisfied learning 75 % of what they know, so seek to excel, build up your learning muscles, and don't look for quick fixes like some do today.  Be better than your teachers, and make them proud of you for what you are accomplishing.

Wasn't it Einstein who said, "the more I learn, the less I know"?  Think about that, ......learning takes a whole lifetime, and everyone of us has an enormous capacity to learn and understand the world around us.

Finally I would add that we all need to work on doing the right things at the right time and in the right way.  That requires a good deal of thought, planning, and consideration for others.  That's wisdom - a lofty goal !

If you are still reading this,....I hope you work hard, *(because things that are easy are usually not worth it), and that you make a significant positive difference in the life of others.

Thank you for your challenging question.

    Have a good tomorrow !
