  1. Get some 2 x 4's (which are really 1-1/2 x 3-1/2, so why DO they call them 2 x 4's?).  Nail the studs to the sole plate and the double top plate 16" OC (that is on center).  Leave some openings for windows and doors by nailing in some headers and sills supported by king studs, jack studs, and cripples.  And that is about how it is done.  

    Unless you are framing in an opening requiring a beam.  

    Or unless you are using LGS (Light Gauge Steel).  Then you have to do some other stuff to cut, drill and s***w them together.  

    Or unless you are finishing your basement.  

    Or building a room addition.

    Or a garden shed.

    Or . . .  Come to think of it, still don't have a clue what you are doing or where you are doing it or what your skill level is, so can't really answer your question, can we?
