How do you fret a violin? what are the calculations?

im a big fan of mark wood ive been making an electric violin and i know all about adding finger tape and i have it on my accoustic but i want to know how to add the frets and how far apart they need to be.

  1. I do not believe that a Violin has frets.  They have one at the top of the neck and one way back toward the Bridge. If you are talking frets like on a bango or so forth then they do not have them the fingers make up the spaces that are needed on violin strings.

    Now I am going to have to look up the names of what I am talking bout cause i will not be able to get them off my mind until I do  HaHa.
