How do you get FLOW in Style Breakdancing?

Okay, So i'm a complete powerhead and I haven't learned any basic style steps because I have no flow at all. Whenever I attempt to do style, I look really stiff. It just looks very wrong.

How do I develop flow? I just want to include some style in my sets.

  1. i have trouble with my toprocks too. i've found that the more i practice the better i get. watching videos of bboys/bgirls on youtube and stuff seems to help too. like with anything in bboying, the more you practice the better you get.

    best of luck :)

  2. try moving your arms or your torso/hips. that should do the trick. pretend that ur in the ocean and the waves are taking your body over. but if you want to make it breakdancing, then have sharp movements but move your arms like a wave...try that. hope i helped^^

  3. A good way to develop flow is through individually controlling every muscle in your body, so you can move each part of your body as you wish, instead of parts attached to each other moving stiffly. This can take a while to develop, though, but you move freely, like a wave instead of a robot. And to do it you don't need to go to classes or anything. A good example is: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XGvi55U0HZ4

Oh yeah and just search on youtube whatever dance moves and techniques you want to learn. Watching those guys and girls move really helps give you ideas and you can just pause the video and try mimicing what those dancers are doing.
