  1. You can get one through your business or if you know anyone who has a business.  Just call up your nearest Makro and get forms sent out.

  2. The stores are not open to the general public, but serve the following sectors:

Traders, such as newsagents and convenience stores.

Caterers, such as restaurants and hotels.

Complementary business users, such as doctors surgeries and universities.

Customers can shop at Makro with a membership card.

Makro UK used to have the tag-line "The UK's No.1 Discounter." This tag-line was replaced with "For Professionals". Makro has subsequently changed this to "Your business partner everyday".

  3. Go to Makro, to the front desk, ask for an application form and in there you need to show that you are self-employed. You do that by showing accountant prepared profit and Loss accounts or any other document which will convince them that you really are self-employed.

I am a Makro member and I admit that they have some good stuff on sale.

  4. Makro's just a big cash & carry so you have to own a business and prove this when you apply for the card. I think my mom had one when she was a childminder years ago and she had one for Hootys by Willenhall (which is no longer membership-only).

  5. When we had them it was through our business.

  6. someone's already put a link up for you. get a costco card too if you can. we prefer costco.

  7. go to a Macro store with details of your business/company and they will issue you with one.

  8. If you're an ordinary member of the public it's easier to join the Freemasons than it is to get a Makro card.

I find it a bit bizarre because it isn't really anything special, it's just like Wilkinsons but with the VAT taken off. Actually, some of Wilko's prices with VAT are cheaper than Makro's prices without.

  9. As the others said, if you have your own business there is no problem, but if you don't have a business then you can get one by asking someone who does have a business to get you one. My son has his own taxi business and he got me one, it doesn't have to be a business that sells stuff sold at Makro.

Costco is good and you don't need to have your own business, but if you have a business or not you have to pay for your card at Costco every year. At Makro their membership is free. Also Makro has more choice than Costco.

I have both Makro and costco cards. i didn't need any photo for Makro, as only the main cardholder needs photo ID, people added onto their card don't need photo ID. Costco took the photo required in the store.

  10. you cant unless you produce a business cheque book and business bank statements

  11. You can register here;

    http://www.makro.co.uk/servlet/PB/menu/1...

You'll need photographic ID, two recent purchase invoices over £50 & either a VAT certificate or bank statement for a limited company, or any recent correspondance from HMRC for sole traders.

  12. You have to have a registered business or ask someone who you know with their own business , to get you a card.
