You go to the license place and get a learners permit first. Then keep it awhile and go back for the drivers test. You'll have to drive an obstacle course. Here anyway.

In general, you go to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles.  In most states you must take a written and driving test.  Some states give you a learner's permit first.  Another option is to take a motorcycle safety course, if you pass you can take the proof to the DMV and get your license.  You also may be able to get insurance discounts by taking the course.

(I live in Florida) I don't have one, but my neighbor told me he had to take a mandatory course ($300), computer test, and driving test.  You have to have insurance as well. He said it was a real hassle, but worth it.  Just call your local DMV and find out what you need to do.
