How do you get a Teaching Certificate expedited?

I applied for the NJ CE in June. However, I didn't check to make sure I had all that was needed and forgot one item. So, I sent the item in and they received it on August 14. But, school starts in two weeks. Does anyone know how to get the certificate expedited? I heard the school has to contact the Board of Education. How do they do that? Thanks.

Let your personnel director or superintendent know of your predicament.  They are the ones to initiate the process of prodding the state on this matter, but they have to know about it.  Two weeks may be a bit too short especially at this time of year, but there is probably something that can be done:  some kind of temporary certification perhaps.

In my state, there is a little quirk in the law which says that you can start teaching without having your full credential in place, but you can't be PAID without it.
