  1. Annunciation and projection is the key to a better speaking voice.  Have you ever recorded yourself talking and then played it back?  Did you even recognize the voice you were hearing?   That is what we sound like to other people,  but we cannot hear ownselves sing or speak.  Yes,  and that is why you need a voice coach...  they will train you how to sound better to the people who are listening to you speak.... and they can better decide which and what exercises to put you on to accomplish it.  Hope I was able to help a little.  Thanks for reading!!!   :))

  3. Hi,

I've been an elocution teacher for over 15 years and I would say that whilst it is possible to improve your speaking voice without a teacher it is advisable to have at least one session so that they can point out to you what you need to practice.

I often have people come to me with what they think is one problem when in fact it is something different. For example, often people get asked to repeat things and they assume this is because their speech is mumbled when infact they are speaking too quickly or too quietly and once they learn to slow down their articulation is okay.

General tips would be to make sure you open your mouth wide emough for the sound to get out, speak slowly enough for listeners to take in what you've said, don't be afraid to pause and always try to sound enthusiastic about what you're saying.

  4. I would definitely recommend working with a coach. It doesn't necessarily have to be a coach on singing, though developing your singing voice helps the speaking voice tremendously. Vocal Pathologists are there to train you how to use your voice healthily and improve it's sound. Try one out and see the difference it makes. You'll be convinced.
