How do you get a guy to make more effort with his looks?

ok heres the deal...theres this guy and everything about his personality is good, his looks are good but i feel that he could improve a bit. I mean i always make the effort like go to the gym and stuff. How do i get him to improve and like change his fashion sense? He keeps sayin he will go gym but he hasnt. Please dont say im shallow because im giving him a chance but as i do everything to look my best y shudnt he?

well straight up babe never tell or even suggest the guy change anything cause all of us guys have a unwritten rule that if a chick suggests or even talks like that its all down hill from there.  Where I'm getting at babe is he'll do it on his own could take a while but be patient.
