How do you get a job on a cruise ship??

i got a job thru a booking agent... we were singers on a ship.

you might try a booking agent - they could help you with the channels.

I will tell you.... if you are looking to be a musician - ask to be presented as "star status" or you will be hooked into doing extra activities on the ship instead of enjoying it.

Ship life is NOT easy.  After a few weeks its no different than a floating hotel.

Just don't get a job on any cruise ship with Americans as passengers. They are never happy, will report you for the smallest reason and the ships policy is that the passenger is always right. Never mind they will say you are a mutant zombie alien who put evil thoughts about Satan in their head, they are never wrong. They are all obese trailer trash with money and are very reminiscent of the Jerry Springer audience. Any other nationalities are OK, the Yanks on these ships are all skullf*ckingly awful.

Just try applying through the company's, ie P&O. They take on trainees. What a great way to see the world. Good Luck.

you have to be over 21 (that was what ruined it for me!)

go on the cruise liner's websites and apply directly to them. dont trust the agencies who say they will get you a job if you give them £20 - they will scam you.

send a CV and a covering letter and hope for the best. apparantly its best to apply for a particular area (like bar work etc) and not "anything thats available"

also bear in mind that they take AGES to reply, they have thousands of applicants.
