How do you get a kitten to stop biting?

I know they're only playful bites, but by now they are starting to hurt. Is there any way we can get him to know not to bite us?

  1. Smack it with a newspaper.

  2. I make a high-pitch "MEOW!" or "OW!" noise whenever my kittens put their teeth on my skin, whether it hurts or not. If your kitten sees you as his friend/parent then he doesn't want to hurt you. Meowing or making a cry of pain that he can understand usually gets the message across that it hurts. If they persist in biting, I usually give them some alone time in their room or crate for about 10 minutes, then take them out to play again. Kittens don't like being alone, so if they have to have the "alone time" it tells them what a sibling or cat-mom would have told him if he was biting too hard: "Play nice or don't play at all!"

Toys help too, but the "ow" training teaches them that humans are very delicate, it helps them to be softer when playing with your hand. Make sure that when you play with him with your hand you're not making your hand an "aggressive playmate".

Also take into consideration that a kitten who is hungry is more prone to bite hard.

  3. tap her/him on the nose everytime they do it  like 5-6 times   most cats hate it so you might have to hold her

  4. just put vinegar on were he bites you.

  5. Yes, those innocent bites can really hurt! When my cat bites or plays a little too hard, I usually say OW kind of loud, and that makes him stop. If you don't catch it in time, though, it can become a bad habit. If that happens, there are several things you can do; smack him with a newspaper or GENTLY tap him on the nose (I find this works the best b/c cats usually don't like you even touching their noses).

    Hope this helps!

  6. get a water spray bottle and when the teeth bite down spray a shot up his or her nose and she will let go and shoot off running WTF.

Second if the water spritz doesnt work and she or he keeps biteing

flick your nail over their pink little nose so ey feel the flick with a thud.

they will undoughtedly stop and run away to a safe spot and look at you growling and l*****g their snout and clean them selves saying WTF? Better them saying WTF than you going WTF with holes in your skin or even worst a ruined blouse from armani or channel jacket

get the little kitty's attention fast and repeat the flicking when the teeth again bare. if they are bitig and breaking skin flick or spritz those little

flickers harder and more often until the cat equates the bitting action to getting the flick flicked out of them either let them bite now thinking its okay they then hold this in mind until they are adults and

when a adult cat breaks your skin with their mouth and a cat can give you a very nasty infection and or cat scratch fever if you ever get it from a pet of your biting he might think three times about biting a elder that feeds him or her specially if the owner cat flick the living chit out their noses when they avert to bite the hand that feeds them.A adult cat that bites usually ends up dead by a neighbor. So stop the bad

behaviour ow while its a kitten by spritz bottle of water they arent smart enough to know its you shooting water up their nose and come from behind their heads when you spray. cheers

  7. cats are deathly afraid of snakes, simply make a pssst sound every time your kitten begins biting.

keep in mind that "tapping" the nose of a kitten can cause sinus damage as well as spraying water, it can get in their nose.

  8. this kitten is just teathing...but for it to learn not to to do that you have to scold him.like everytime he bits you or someone else you say no and yell at him.thats the only way it will learn, and as it gets older i wont bit any more!

  9. when it bites you hard pull your hand away and give a loud and firm OW! that should startle the cat. dont play with it after its bitten you. it will know once it bites that playtime is over. my cat still playbites and shes over a year old. i dont mind it but when she does it hard i let her know the fun is over

  10. She needs something to do. Get her a kitty tree to keep her busy
