  1. Excell 20007?  That must be a really new version.


  2. I wish they hadn't changed excel.  2007 is driving me nuts.  My mind was comfortable with the old version and I could quickly get to the menu option without thinking.

    For formatting, go first to the home tab.  Then scan right until you see the edit group for numbers (it's the 4th one).  Click on the little arrow next to the word "number"---that will open up the OLD formatting option.  Then pick currency and (red) for negatives.

  3. 1) Highlight the cell (cells) you wish to format.

    2) Click Format, then Cells... (or press Ctrl+1 on your keyboard)

    3) In the Category: box select Number  

    In the right area of the Format Cells window, you will see the available options; numbers in parentheses and in red.  This is standard accounting notation.
