How do you get a new car title?

I purchased a car and the guy I got the car from had bought the car from an old man with alziehmers. The old man messed up the title. How do I go about getting it in MY name? What if the Old man is dead now? The owner I bought the car from never had it fixed. Can it be fixed? I have a bill of sale and new title app.

Normal story for cars older than abt 10 yrs. Get a bill of sale from the person you purchased the vehicle from, & maybe for your state have him notorize it. Also bring the title to the car to the DMV as well as the car. This works in our state, & we have this situation a lot since we buy cars back into the '30's.
