I recently had our whole house painted including the door. We let it dry however every time we close it it takes a lot of force and pushing to get it open. Can anyone please save me from my angry door?

  1. find out where it is rubbing (by holding a piece of carbon paper between the door frame and the door, it will rub a spot on the place where friction is happening) then rub some bees wax on that area.

  2. I had the same thing happen with a bedroom door and

it was because the person who painted the door also painted the edges of the door. I had to gently sand the paint off

the edges so that the door did not fit so tightly anymore.

  3. Not really a solution, but first, try rubbing a white candle on the door and frame where it sticks.  This may make it work acceptably.

If not, you'll need to plane down the door (don't even think hand sanding will work), and repaint.  If you have a random orbital sander, that should work if you don't need to take too much away.
