  2. Girls nearing puberty or boys that are still in that vague child like stage (3-5) are the two most common attractors of poltergeist-type activity.

It is assumed that the paranormal activity that occurs is caused by extra energy spilling off the individual that cannot be used in every day life, or is not being acknowledged by authority figures. It can also be caused by a resistance to change in the life of the individual.

To 'get' one isn't something that is generally sought after, because the psychological and physical damages to the individual and those around them are often severe even in minor cases. Your best case scenario with a poltergeist is misplaced objects (tee hee hee pranks), worse case scenario we're talking objects breaking, flying kitchen implements and a world-class mess.

But, the short answer to your question is simple, you can't go looking for one. Like most people who are intrigued by the supernatural and the occult, it's easy to believe having a poltergeist would be exciting and also manageable. The truth is that many malicious or even simply mischievous spirit types aren't interested in those that are interested in them.

If you need help to identify or to rid yourself of a poltergeist that is far more understandable.

  3. Generally, poltergeists are attracted to girls - pre-pubescent up to the late teens.

  4. I really do not understand your question.  Are you trying to acquire one or are you asking how one became?

They are generally already in what ever dwelling or place.

  5. Poltergeists are usually found in houses with a girl nearing puberty living there.... poltergeists  are different than ghosts.... alot noisier and annoying..... they tend to play tricks on you like take you stuff or damage you personal belongings

  6. The current theory concerning poltergeist activity is called:

    RSPK (recurrent spontaneous psychokinesis).

This theory proposes that unexpressed emotional conflict (which is why this theory is often incorrectly associated only with teenagers) causes stress that is then released through psychokinesis causing objects to move. The person causing this is almost always unaware that they are the cause of the disturbance. Most activity takes place when they are present and often focuses on objects belonging to a particular person (if the conflict is wit the mother it is likely to be her items that are disturbed the most).

The cure for the poltergeist is finding healthy ways to express (not resolve) this conflict. Family counseling has laid to rest almost all poltergeist activity it has ever met.

Skeptics claim since the days of Frank Podmore (1880's) that this is due to "tricky and little boys and girls". Mr. Podmore (an actual investigator not armchair skeptic) reached this conclusion based upon his examination of several poltergeist cases. If this is the case the cure above is still the most effective.

Certainly this explanation does fit in some cases but there are others where it fails to fit the situation.

I have listed several sources for you below if you wish to read up on the scientific literature examining the poltergeist phenomena.

    The more you know....
