  1. (i'm a fellow singer myself, went to a performing arts high school where you had to audition to get in & whatnot. i've sang with tony bennett, aretha franklin & diana ross at the US OPEN in 2006)

you need to put yourself out there. enter yourself in any talent shows or anything that will get people to listen to you. try looking up any agencies (no matter where they are) and send them tapes of you singing.

it's hard to get noticed. you have to have that real raw talent that many people think they have, but don't.

    good luck!

  2. Somehow your question got put in with Police Records! You need to re-post in a more hip category! But in ANSWER to your question, any good manager would arrange publicity events for you, using portable (battery) amplifiers and a boy band (also in need of publicity) for backup, giving brief and limited free concerts in parking lots. Similar madness also beckons, limited only by your personal bravery. Practice scales, vibratto, tremelo, sweeps, fades, stuccato, swells, pianissimo, and all the standard stuff to develop control. Good Luck in your career. Regards, Larry.

  3. You're a bit young for a record deal. Getting a teen record deal is rare, and its generally considered a novel thing. In other words, people will only be interested because you're young, and not because you're especially good. You'll be better off waiting until you're older. In the mean time you should be taking lessons and working on your technique as much as possible. Once you decide you are ready, the best thing you can do is perform often and develop a very large following. That's pretty much the only thing that will get you noticed in the recording industry, your ability to draw a crowd every time you perform.

  4. The first step would be to hire someone who can explain the difference between the "Law enforcement and police" section and the "music" section.

  5. Ha ha, your question got put in the Law Enforcement section.  Yahoo thought you were talking about a police record.

I would recomend finding a vocal coach.  S/he will help you get better, and they usually have access to talent scouts and agents.  They should be able to help you better.

  6. Just give up youll never be anything but a waitress at a roadside Diner. Be realistic.

  7. make yourself known

sing outside where lots of people are around

make demo tapes, and have them ready.

talk to people you know to see if THEY know anything

usually theres like a recording studio in most citys, and sessions cost like $100 an hour.

just try things that you think would help people remember you.
