  1. Buff it

  2. Cdn is right.  The only spin I put on it is I use a Q-tip.  Dip 1 end of the Q-tip in the warm water then place it over the dent and wrap some folded paper towel around it to keep it in place.  That will pull it out.  Good luck and keep rackn em up!

  3. Yes, resurfacing the shaft on a lathe with very fine abrasive is a usual way to service it, especially for bigger dents. And I would recommend you take it to a cue repair mechanic if you have no experience and/or are not equipped for doing cues on your lathe.

However, if you have a minor dent and no other surface service is required, it is possible to heat and dampen a small piece of paper towel over a steam kettle (handle this heat with needle nose pliers) and quickly lay this tiny piece over the dent to get the small area of wood at the dent to heat and in the process hydrate to release the small dent. It so often works like magic if the dent is small, and we've been using this technique for years.

    Good Shooting!

  4. EASIEST QUICKEST WAY.... DAB OF WATER, HOT IRON, RUN THE SHAFT ALONG THE IRON AND IT WILL FLOAT OUT THE DENT. SAND SMOOTH

  5. The best thing to do would be to wet some paper towel or fabric, place it over the dent then iron over it.

This will lessen the chances of  the cue warping due to excess steam.

  6. For over 20 years I have done kinda the same as the other guys when it comes to wetting the dent and using steam. Instead of steam or just letting water set on the shaft use a hand sealing iron. I have had one for 20 years and wouldnt go without it. The iron Im talking about is made for sealing bags but does wonders on wood...not to mention you can take it with you where ever you go and use it if needed all you need is an outlet. Heck make the money back on the cost by showing up at the local pool hall and charge people 5 bucks to take dents out and do the work right there. Here is a link for one that is similar to the one I have although mine has a phenolic bottom instead of aluminum.

  7. Put on the Lave to get it out best you can. Be careful though. Then buff and wax it. All you can do really.
