How do you get a tooth put in?

So, I'm missing one of my teeth so i have a space between two of my teeth. I wanted to get one put in, so I was wondering:

1. What's the procedure called?

2. What do they do? How do they put one in?

3. Is it expensive?

4. Is it painful?

Every answer helps.

  1. 1-you can have what is called a bridge placed, you can get an implant or if you are missing other teeth you may be able to get a partial plate.

2-a bridge is just that.  Your teeth that are around the space will be trimmed down and an impression made of them.  A false tooth will be fabricated to join to two teeth.  So it will actually look like a "bridge".  You typically will leave with a temporary bridge and have to come back to have the permanent one cemented on.  An implant is basically a s***w down in your bone where you are missing the tooth.  A crown is then made to go on the s***w.  A partial is a partial denture.  I am pretty sure you know what a denture is.

3-Bridge, expensive...Implant, expensive...Partial, not as expensive as the previous two...BUT you may not even be eligible for a partial.

4-painful?  None of the procedures listed should be painful--including the implant.

  2. YOU MIGHT MEAN A DENTAL IMPLANT.

THEY DRILL INTO YOUR JAW BONE PLACE IN A s***w AND PLACE A CROWN ON TOP.

YOU WON'T FEEL PAIN BECAUSE YOU WILL HAVE ANESTHESIA.

    IS IT EXPENSIVE?

VERY AND NOT PAID BY INSURANCE.
