  1. To work and live in Tenerife as the rules stand at the moment you do not need a visa and you do not need to register for residency, you do need to register with the tax authority and for this you will need to obtain a N.I.E. number, this has to be applied for at the local police station (in the southern resort areas at Play de las Americas) and can take several weeks to obtain.

    The Canary islands being Spanish territory is considered to be part of the E.E.C. in all matters except where United Kingdom Customs is concerned, in UK Customs matters the Canary islands are considered to be outside of Europe, worldwide allowances apply.


  2. Contact the nearest Spanish consulate...but if you are truly scottish, then you are in the EU, and don't need one.  Get them to confirm that information.

  3. You dont need a visa to work within the European Union, its only outwith such as the USA or Australia  

  4. Write to your MEP he/she will know.
