There is a wild, homeless, baby bird out in my yard somewhere. I saw it yesterday but by the time I wen tout to get it, it was gone. It can't fly and it isn't afraid of humans or vehicles so I am worried for it. I want to go and get it and take care of it but I can't find it. Is there any way I can get it to come? (Like a call or bait)

  1. USE A HAT TO CATCH IT, MAKE SURE YOU USE GLOVE'S, TRY TO FIND THE NEST YOU CAN FEED IT WORM'S OR BUG'S.

  2. Interfering with wildlife is unnatural, please leave the birds alone.

Leave the wild to the wild.

  3. If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly.  They will hop around on the ground and their parents will feed them there or in a tree or scrub until they can fly on their own.  I am sure the parents are nearby watching.  Just leave this bird alone and let nature take it's course.  Also, it would be illegal for you to capture and care for this bird, they are protected by law.

  4. ok do you have a picture of the baby bird? or did you know what it looked like? It might be the nature of the baby bird to be left alone. there are baby killdeer in my backyard and the mother and father care for it like you wouldn't beleive. It does depend the height of the adult bird though, it might only be days away from flying,it might have even flew away already. Ok im worrried for this bird too so discribe it to me at jesselesniowski@yahoo.ca ok thanks i'd love to help you tell u what bird it is.

  5. I don't think it will come to you.  I once caught a baby blue jay that was repeatedly flying at a glass door.  I am sure it was pretty dazed.  While sitting on the porch showing it to my 5 year old son, I noticed the female blue jay watching from a tree across the street.  We took it over near the tree and let it fly, but it could not gain altitude.  Grabbed it again and climbed up high enough to put it in a tree branch and backed off.  Mommy came right down and tended to it.  Your baby probably had mommy or daddy help it which is why you can't find it.

  6. You need too leave it alone

its mother will be around and with you going out she will not come too it. Just leave it be. you could not look after it and it would probubly die if you tryed.
