Question:

How do you get acrylic nails off?

I need help. I have acrylic nails and have managed to get all of them except 2 off. That would be my thumb and pinky fingers. I have tried to do the same technique as the others (biting at them and when that didn't work using acetone nail polish and nail clippers). Does anyone have any other methods? My fingers are very sore and it is very painful to keep this up. I know i can go to the nail shop but I was trying to avoid that option if at all possible. Thanks for you answers.

  3. i agree soak in nailpolish remover it will take a long time though about an hour

  4. you have to use nail polish remover =)

  5. You have to use pure acetone.  Pour some in a glass bowl and soak your nails for about 20 minutes.  Without removing them from the acetone, use an orangewood stick to scrape off the loosened acrylic.  Keep soaking and scraping until it's all off.

If the acrylic nails have a gel overlay, then you will have to break the seal of that with a nail file first otherwise the acetone won't work.

You'll have to do one hand at a time.

polish remover is not the same and will not work.  warm water will not work either.

  6. Soak them in acetone :)

You have to soak them for quite a while and it will turn to gel again in layers...just keep wiping it away until its all completely come off. It takes a long time but its the least painful way to do it.
