How do you get advertisers for a blog?

I have a celebrity gossip, humor, music news, and entertainment blog that gets 100,000 page views/month. How do I get advertisers? I've looked at sites like adsense, adbrite and cpm networks and they don't pay barely anything. Big sites like federated media and blog ads won't reply to my application. What am I supposed to do? I beginning to get really discouraged. Please help.

  1. You have to tell convincingly to your advertisers that you are offering a good deal. You have to have good content and good traffic if you want to drag attentions of your advertisers. So  make a good SEO content and get more traffic, then advertisers will come  knocking your door for ads.

    Good luck

  2. That's not bad traffic, not bad at all. Are you sure AdSense pays you barely enough? Try changing the ad layouts, colors, sizes etc. I am sure that it will eventually prove to be a valuable financial addition to your website.

You can always contact related sites/blogs/forums directly, via e-mail, and ask them if they are interested in buying ad space on your website. For best ad management, I recommend OpenAds, an open souce solution for ad management.

  3. Hmmm....that's a really good number. You say you've looked at sites like Adsense, but have you tried it? Maybe you wanna give it go.

I suggest you get the AdSense Inbox system on http://adzgig.com/get/adsense-inbox.html to help you produce more content for your websites. This will get you to get more people to visit your website and increase your chances of making money.

Hey, you never know. Give it a shot.

  4. While 100,000 page views may sound a lot, the amount is not large enough to earn much via CPM.

The best way to get some real advertising money is to contact companies whom you think may be interested in yourself.

Realistically, it'll be tough to go about doing that. You said you didn't make much with adsense? Did you try changing where the ads were placed, changing the colors, etc? You would be surprise at the difference it could make.

Also, consider selling text links to get some additional revenue.

  5. They want you to have an actual website.   You can then do back links to your web page from your blog.  I suggest you set up a website and then reapply to those sites.  Try Commission Junction, Clickbank, Share a Sale, Link share for starters, but don't both applying until you have a web page set up.  It should be a paid page as opposed to a free one.

  6. You said that you used Google Adsense but it didn't pay you well! well maybe that is due to the place of your adds, or the way you display them.

I have a blog just about how to get more revenue from adsense .. and I have so much lower traffic that you have on your website ...

I tried a lot of other advertising things .. and I believe Adsense is the best ...

and I agree to another answer who said: that you should contact some companies yourself ... (who would be interested in your website content) .. I mean Your website is related in somehow to their work ... and maybe just a random companies ..

or maybe a local stores .. (if you believe that your visitors are local people)

I think this is the best thing to do ... but all you have to do is to work a little harder on your Adsense thing ...

I'm sure that you can make a lot of money out of this traffic ...

    Good luck
