There is a 5,000 dollar innitiation fee for that card, plus a 2500 dollar annual fee.  Basically your first bill will be 7500 dollars before you even make your first purchase  You also have to have great credit, lots of assets and spend about 250k per year on the card.  But here is a little trick.  If you get the card in the UK, you only have to pay a 650 pound fee (about 1200 dollars) to get the card. You can also get it in Germany for about 1000 euro.   The US is the most expensive place to get the card though

To get an American Express Centurion (aka Black card) you must spend 250K in a rolling 12 months on an American Express charge card, and you must also have been a cardholder of a charge card with them for at least 1 year.  These 2 rules apply for both personal and small business Centurion cards.

If you meet this requirement you can call their concierge and ask to apply, or you can just call a general American Express phone number and asked to be transfered.

The initiation fee is $5,000 and the yearly fee is $2,500.  The above is for the US Centurion card.
