my girlfriend was trying to replace her broken rear view mirror, except she glued the bracket back onto the windshield backwards. I've put a couple of these things on in my time, but never had to get one off, especially not the easy way! I'm wondering if a strong solvent might work like acetone or naphtha? Any help would be appreciated greatly.

  1.   You may try to use acetone as the glue is a cyanoacrylate and this is very soluble in acetone..or.... purchase another shoe and glue it on top of the other one, this time the right way.

  2. Broke a windshield once trying to pull one of only a minute or so after I stuck it on. I would try the heat trick, or acetone.

  3. Heat will work but dont use a torch, use a heat gun or good hair dryer. A torch will get too hot.

  4. its easy to do - but you must be careful.use a torch to carefully heat up the metal pad while gripping the pad with pliers. as the glue gets hot it will be easy to pull the metal pad off with a slight twisting motion.
