How do you get an unsupported wireless card to get recognized by Ubuntu?

I have a Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11g 54mbps. Please Help ME!!!

  1. You could try installing the Windows drivers under Ubuntu.  Here's how to do it...

    1) Select Add/Remove from the main Ubuntu menu.

    2) Select "All available applications" from the "Show:" drop down menu.

    3) Type "ndiswrapper" into the search box

    4) Install "Windows Wireless Drivers"

    5) Find where on the program menu this program has been installed to (I forget off the top of my head) and run it.

    You should now be able to follow the program's instructions and install your Windows WiFi drivers.

    I have done this successfully on my laptop which came with a WiFi card Ubuntu doesn't support just yet.
