How do you get backdated weather info from last year like the rain % etc?

  1. It depends on what data you are looking for and what you are using it for.  For educational use, you can get a lot of information for free either from your State Climatologist if you have one (check for one at http://www.stateclimate.org/ ) or the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) at http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov.  If it is for commercial use, you will have to pay to access or obtain most data.  

    Another place to check is with you local National Weather Service Office (NWS).  Try going to http://www.weather.gov, and clicking on your location.  On the left then there should be a link for "Climate:Local" or similar.  From there follow these steps:

    1) Product - Preliminary Climatology Data (CF6)

    2) Location - station of interest or nearest to your point of interest

    3)Timeframe - select archive and month of interest

    4) Click 'Go'

    This should give you daily summary of temperature and precipitation for the day of interest.
