How do you get battery acid off your skin ? and to heal your skin?

my husband got battery acid on the side of his nostril when his bassboat battery melted on a frying pan and he got battery acid on his hand and he went to itch his nose and got it on him

  1. When this happens, most people rub it off with something, a rag, handkerchief, then they rinse it with water, soap and water is best. If he did this he'll be fine. If not and there is a burn, keep it clean and cover with either vaseline of Neosporin. It will heal quickly. Good luck.


  2. Baking powder will neutralize the acid but he probably already has chemical burn. If its bad I would try the ER.  

  3. Water water water and then more water. It will dilute the acid down so that it doesn't burn the skin anymore. As for the possible burn that is already there.... keep it clean, neosporin ointment or something like it can help prevent infection. And infection is always the thing to watch for with burns. If the burn is bad you should probably see an MD though.
