  1. You have to start with good content. I'll assume you have that and your question is strictly traffic.

The key to internet traffic is all about who is linking. Until you have traffic, you are unlikely to get featured on YouTube itself.

Getting linked by people who matter is the key. Who is linking to you? What is their PageRank? What is their technorati score? How many people view their page each day? Is your content going to appeal to their average visitor, or is it something that they like, but their visitors won't care.

The next question is search results. Are people getting to your video via the search terms you want them too. This may be difficult to measure on YouTube, itself. If you have a blog, you may want to create good SEO friendly posts for each video with either your YouTube video embedded or a link to your page. It is easier to track traffic this way and you have more control over search words and titles. Be sure to ask them to stop by AND comment. Also tell them you have more videos up your sleeve and that they should subscribe to your blog RSS feed AND/OR your YouTube Channel.

Comments, generally, require either a connection (subscriber, friend, family, etc...) or some form of Wow factor.

Subscription, generally, requires either the recommendation of someone whose option they value, or a history of good content. I usually subscribe to blogs that my favorite bloggers reccommend or if I have the time to read a few articles (or watch a few videos) and they are consistently good and of a topic I'm interested in, they I subscribe.

    Good Luck.
