How do you get chosen to ride in the olympics?

Its always been my dream to ride on the USA Olympic Dressage team...Does anyone know how they choose who will ride? Or the requirements??

  1. they have trials and u have to go through a series of i think 5 trials and then they select the people who did the best


  2. I'm not sure about 'requirements', but to even be considered you need to get yourself out there.

    Large competitions like Rolex and the like will allow you to become more well-known and prove your worth to the Olympic Committee.

    Enter shows and practice, practice, practice!

    Winning large shows is important, or at least placing well!

  3. You have to work your way up through other shows and qualify for the next one.  Like if you do well (scores) at a local rated show so many times, you can qualify to go to regionals, like that and so on.  Eventually if you and your horse are good enough, you can qualify to the olimpics.

  4. Start winning really big shows and get your name noticed.

  5. There is a group of selectors who choose the teams along with the chef de equipe. They make the selections based on competition results. You have to apply to be considrerd.
