How do you get cigarette smell out of your couch?

My dad bought a love seat, and it smells like smoke. It's awful!

idk if you can get it fully out.

I would try to let the sponge stuff inside the cushions sit out on a nice day and air out.

I would wash the coushion covers and spray fabreeze when finished.

One way that might work would be to put each cushion into a plastic bag big enough to hold it.  Take a vacuum hose and put one end inside the bag, and attach the other end.  Close the bag around the hose as tight as you can, and turn the vacuum on.  It will suck all of the air out of the bag and the cushion, making it flat like a pancake.  Then shut off the vacuum and let the cushion re-inflate with "fresh" air.  Then spray it with Fabreze & let dry.

My sister and I got a free couch that was that way a few years ago.  We ended up using Febreeze.  Also, we put the cushions on the balcony in the sun for a couple of days and it helped.  We also got a "Smoker's Candle" that is so people can smoke and you won't smell it, and that helped.  But to be honest, a year later we ended up buying something new.  It was mostly fine, but everytime you sat down a bollow of nasty smoke smell would come out. It wasn't worth keeping the free one around.
