Question:

How do you get cigarette smoke out of neoprene?

I bought some webbed finger neoprene swimming gloves new in the package and unused by someone, but apparently the previous owner was a smoker and the neoprene's sucked the smell in.

So far I've tried scrubbing them with hand soap and soaking them in a bowl of water with dish soap. I can't get the smell out, any suggestions?

  1. Try soaking them in a solution of baking soda. Be careful not to soak in anything for too long and rinse well.

  2. You can soak them in white vinegar, borax or baking soda and water or put them in a box with activated charcoal for a few days. All will remove the smell.
