When baking, how long should you put the homemade chocolate chip cookies in the oven for in order for them to be moist; not crispy?

The ones I am making, make about three dozen, so how long should I bake them for to be moist?

  1. Just take them out of the oven 2-5 minutes before you are supposed to. They won't look or feel done but they will firm up.

  2. I find that using buttered-flavored crisco instead of butter makes them fluffier.  Also, if you use butter, you need a very good quality unsalted butter.  Those cheap salted butters will ruin cookies.  Margarine is the worst product you can use for a cookie, makes your cookies cook flatter than pancakes, seriously.

  3. For  a 2 by 2 inch cookie i put mine in on 325 for 8 minutes. They come out chewy. They might not look done to you but if you want them soft that's good.

  4. Use Crisco, instead of butter.  Butter makes cookies spread more, so they're thinner and harder.  Crisco keeps them fluffier and soft.  It would depend on your oven, and the recipe as to the temp and time.  Set your timer for 5 min. less than the recipe says, and keep checking them.  They should just start to get golden at the edges (or the bottom).  Take them out, let them set on the pan for 1-2 min, before transferring to a rack to cool......Also, make sure that the pan is on the middle rack

  5. I always use half normal flour, half oat flour (I make this by whizzing oats in the blender until they are a fine powder). The combination of flours helps keep the cookies from drying out. I always use butter to make cookies as I find it has the best flavour and they are never flat or dry thanks to the oats. I have an amazing cookie recipe if you would like it

    Hope this helps!

  6. Take them out about 5 min before they are done
